When tools are created by us for us, that is where we can truly tap into innovative and groundbreaking solutions, inventions, and technological advancements that revolutionize industries and put us as a community back on the map.
The impact of Latinas is strong, and our impact is felt even more in the spaces where we’ve yet to be represented. Mujeres, like the ones featured in our #WeAllGrow Latina Impact list, presented by General Motors, have done just that by creating innovative solutions that benefit our community at large for generations to come.
Women like Beatriz Acevedo, Ivelyse Andino, Rocio van Nierop, and Susie Jaramillo have taken their expertise and positions of power to create innovative tools for us to thrive as a community, and detach ourselves from a survival mindset. It is those tools that open doors, generation after generation, inspiring all of us to continue to pass the torch and continue working as a community for the community, rather than fighting for one spot at “the top” that the patriarchy has defined.
At the root of social innovation is community, and it’s important to understand how each of us is threaded into the equation, and that a tool for one of us can be a tool to help all of us thrive.
